IR Shutter Trigger Nex5

Hi All

First post here, may I begin with thanking Airic Lenz for the amazing and continuing work with the stop motion controllers.
I am building a simple rig for milkway timelapse photography.

I read the docs and uploaded the sketch to the UNO everything fine however...

I have a NEX5 camera that does not have a cable focus/shutter. I have found the IR shutter sequence to mimic a IR remote shutter. Its a small sketch but uses delays.

Basicly I want to add the IR trigger signal output to pin 2 of the UNO so I can trigger it without using another arduino running with just this sketch on it. Can this go in the "mE_camera" file? Or will the delays mess with the timings? Does it need converting to millis ?

Why don't you try it? it should be no problem to replace the trigger code with your replacement.

So I did upload the modified sketch and it doesnt work, maybe a hardware problem as i tested this code alone and still no luck.

I modified his code and inserted it into the Me_camera file. Works great Smile Im using a IR Led on the D0 pin. With enough delay for the slow trigger of the camera it works fine. Im now building the rig with a winch pulley and paracord instead of a GT2 belt. Much like a barebones SYRP Genie. 

I have attached modified code if you or anyone wishes to try it, remember to add:

#define IR_PIN              0

at the top and in void setup on the "config" tab:

pinMode(IR_PIN, OUTPUT);

Remove the shield when uploading as D0 is arduino UNO's TX pin
